Case studies

# Results, reported honestly.

Six accounts across four clients, measured the way I'd want an agency partner to measure them: like-for-like periods, verified conversions, and the context behind every number.

## E-com Billiards Equipment Client

- Google Ads
- Shopping
- Performance Max
- Small budget

### The challenge

An online and in-store retailer of billiards and game room equipment. Product feed problems were holding back Shopping ads, revenue tracking wasn't recording real order values, and thin margins meant the ads weren't profitable enough to scale.

### What I changed

- Fixed purchase tracking so real order values reached Google Ads
- Cleaned up the product feed and improved feed health
- Restructured campaigns around the products that sell
- Scaled the budget once returns justified it

Monthly revenue$4,634from $2,347+97%

ROAS4.20xfrom 3.79x+11%

Average order value$122from $73+66%

Monthly ad spend$1,103from $620+78%

**Monthly revenue and ad spend**July 2023 to May 2025

How this was measured

Before is July to September 2023, the first months with real revenue tracking. After is October 2023 to June 2024, my first 9 months. All figures are monthly averages. Earlier 2023 months recorded every purchase at $1, so they're left out.

Healthcare non-profit · 3 accounts

## Cancer Awareness Non-Profit

A national cancer awareness organization. I manage three of their Google accounts: year-round lead generation, a Google Ad Grant, and a seasonal event campaign. HIPAA rules shaped what we could target and track in all three.

- Google Ad Grants
- GA4
- HIPAA

### Paid Account

Lead generation

#### The challenge

Form submissions were the main goal and calls the backup, but form tracking had been broken for a year, so the campaigns were optimizing toward calls. The fiscal-year goal was 14,000 forms and 7,000 calls across Meta and Google, with Google delivering 30 to 40%.

#### What I changed

- Rebuilt form conversion tracking in GA4
- Moved bidding to form submissions, with calls as the backup
- Kept calls on target while forms became the focus

Form leads in my first 8 months10,401target was 4,200 to 5,6001.9x target

Shaded band: target of 4,200 to 5,6000 to 11,000

**Monthly form leads and calls**January 2023 to June 2025

How this was measured

The like-for-like comparison uses the patient services form, tracked in both January to September 2023 and November 2024 to June 2025. Form tracking was offline from October 2023 to October 2024, so those months show no form data. The client's fiscal year runs July to June.

### Grant Account

Google Ad Grants, Search only

#### The challenge

The Google Ad Grant was badly under-managed: low Quality Scores, location targeting set up wrong, ads held back by low search volume keywords, and contact form tracking broken for about a year.

#### What I changed

- Rebuilt keywords and ad copy to raise Quality Score
- Fixed location targeting so the grant reached the right people
- Replaced low volume keywords so ads could serve fully
- Restored contact form tracking, then moved to conversion-based bidding

Grant budget used a month$9,471from $8,736, of a $10K monthly grantMore of the grant put to work

**Monthly form leads**January 2023 to June 2025

How this was measured

Before is January to September 2023, the last stretch when form tracking worked. After is November 2024 to June 2025. Spend is Google Ad Grant budget, not cash. Email signups aren't counted as leads.

### Event Campaign

Event registration, about 6 weeks a year

#### The challenge

An annual walk held in 70+ cities across 36+ states, with about six weeks to drive sign-ups. Registrations had slipped from 2,392 to 2,227 the year before. The goal was more than 2,200 Google registrations at under $30 each.

#### The season

- Budget scaled 82% inside the six-week window
- Cost per click fell 15% while clicks more than doubled
- Cost per registration held under the $30 cap

Registrations3,653from 2,227, goal was 2,200166% of goal

Cost per click$1.20from $1.43-15%

Registration growth+64%after a year of declineRecord season

**Registrations by season**2025 was my first season

**Cost per registration**Against the $30 cap

How this was measured

Each season runs March to April and is measured on the same registration conversion, so the three years compare directly. 2025 was my first season managing the account.

Senior living · 3 locations

## Senior Living Communities Client

- Google Ads
- GA4
- Multi-location

### The challenge

A senior living operator offering independent living, assisted living and memory care, struggling to fill three locations that were each advertising on their own. Form inquiries close at a higher rate than calls, so forms were the priority.

### What I changed

- Brought three separately run locations into one coordinated account
- Cut low-intent reach so spend went to people actively searching
- Focused optimization on form inquiries, with calls as the backup
- Set up GA4 next to Google Ads tracking to verify every lead count

Total leads in 8 months576from 165+249%

Cost per lead$48from $162-70%

Contact form leads241from 42+474%

Ad spend$27,588from $26,775+3%

**Monthly leads by type**March 2024 to June 2025

How this was measured

Eight months before (March to October 2024) against my first eight months (November 2024 to June 2025). Leads are Google Ads contact form conversions plus calls from ads. GA4 tracked the same forms as a cross-check and isn't added on top, and phone or email link clicks aren't counted.

Children's healthcare · HIPAA

## ABA Therapy Clinic Client

- Google Ads
- GA4
- Competitive local market

### The challenge

An ABA therapy clinic for autistic children in a crowded local market, struggling to fill its locations against well-funded competitors.

### The first year

- Clicks tripled while cost per click fell 41%
- Budget grew 76% as lead volume justified it
- The clinic opened 2 new locations within the year

**Monthly leads and cost per lead**January 2023 to June 2024

How this was measured

Equal nine-month windows: January to September 2023 before, October 2023 to June 2024 with me. Leads are client inquiry forms plus calls from ads.
